I like this word. I have always had a folder under My documents titled 'Miscellaneous'. It always held all my fun stuff - which i couldn't file under a specified title.
In the Simpsons TV show, when the Protestant preist wants to identify Appu's religion (Hindu) he calls it 'Miscellaneous' ! My husband and I laughed really hard...because thats what we encounter now, living in the mid west of America. People aren't sure of who Hindus really are. We are this 'unknown' people who are suddenly really important to the American economy - but taking away jobs...
My telephone service technician lady lectured me on how they were striking about 'jobs going to India', when the local news station said the strike was for 'healthcare benefits!' O well...
Hindu India has just begun to be lifted out of the 'miscellaneous' group of countries it used to be a part of. Its certainly fun and stressful for a nation/society to go through sudden changes and exposure and find itself in the limelight. For the 'miscellaneous' quiet anonymous Indian it is going to be an exhilarating and sometimes an exasperating experience...
We can only waite and watch as time unfolds....and our 'karma' plays out.
