So, I am now in my 3rd trimester. I look and feel heavier, and have felt the baby move for quite a while now. When my (nearly) 8 year old felt the kicking for the first time - he described it as "bubbles coming from Mommy's stomach". That sounded unusual - I had never thought of it that way before.
This time I have gone thru nearly every experience listed on babycenter.com, except for the nausea and back pain. I have had sore gums, sore ligaments...even rhinitis. Each week, I read their updates and am amazed at what I observe. The symptoms have never hampered what I do, but they have been definitely observable. Its been kind of fun - noticing how your body adapts. The Tae Kwon Do classes have helped tremendously. I'm still going at it - after 6 months (ofcourse, no jumping kicks, and no sparring, but I do the rest) - I'm proud of myself for keeping that up. It keeps me in good spirits, and I have made friends at the school who cheer me along :)
We have also entered the planning mode. What will we need? Should the name be what we like, or should it be what Americans can easily pronounce? At a recent party, where most kids were below the age of 2, I watched as their mothers got busy with diapers and feeding bottles. Parents took turns eating. Its been such a long time - I sometimes wonder about how we will deal with those issues all over again. A 7 year old is quite independent. Now to restart the process with a new baby - looks tiring. I know we will be fine, but still watching others reminds us that it will require re-disciplining ourselves.
On the whole the 2nd time has been easier - maybe because I've experienced it once before. I'm more relaxed mentally, and more active physically... that has helped. The rest we shall see...
